Chi Kung training via Zoom
When the Corona crisis began in March 2020, we looked for ways to maintain the Chi Kung training of our local students. In mid-April, we've met via Zoom for the first time.

It turned out that this way of training is working very well - particularly for the Chi Kung practices of Zhan Zhuang and Ba Duan Jin.

Most people find it easier to train together in a group of like-minded people, rather than practicing alone. And it's also more fun.

Based on these good experiences, I'd like to invite you to my foundational Chi Kung course via Zoom.

In the 8 hours of this course, you will learn basic positions of Zhan Zhuang Chi Kung and the first 4 exercises of Ba Duan Jin.

Ba Duan Jin: The Eight Noble Exercises
In the foundational course, you'll learn the first four of the Eight Brocade Exercises (Ba Duan Jin).

Similar to Zhan Zhuang (Standing like a Tree), also the Ba Duan Jin tradition goes back several centuries, and is very popular.

These exercises stretch and tone the body, and are very beneficial, especially for people with a sedentary lifestyle.

Course content
Hands-on training practice is the focus of this 9-week foundational course.

Some fundamental aspects of Chi Kung theory, rooted in classical Chinese medicine, will also be covered.

And you'll watch some never before shown historical film footage that will give you a deep insight into our living tradition.

The highlights of the course are:

The 6 Zhan Zhuang Yin-positions: Wu Chi + 5 elements.

The first 4 Ba Duan Jin exercises in their respective basic form.

The most common mistakes, and how to avoid them.

The 3 most important points for self-correction.

The energetic architecture of the body: 3 Tan Tiens and 3 essential energy points.

As an accompanying book, I recommend the classic by Master Lam "The Way of Energy".

Please note that the exercises, especially Zhan Zhuang, can be physically demanding and strenuous. Participation in the course is at the participants own responsibility.

The course is held in English with translation into German. Each lesson will take about 60 minutes.

After completing the course, you'll have a core program to practice on your own. With this, you fulfill the requirements for more advanced training.

If you want to further develop your knowledge and skills, you can join the Chi Kung Academy.

As a member, you can participate twice a week without additional costs in the lessons from Sifu Thomas.

In these classes, you'll learn, among other exercises, the Yang positions of Zhan Zhuang, Shi-Li (Power Testing), Golden Ball Tai Chi, as well as advanced Ba Duan Jin exercises.

Technical requirements

For this course, we'll use Zoom meetings. These are private video conferences where all participants can see and hear each other.

Therefore, in order to safeguard personal rights, it is not allowed to record video conferences in any form (audio, video).

To participate in the course via Zoom, it is recommended to install the Zoom software on a smartphone, tablet, desktop or laptop computer beforehand. Registration with Zoom is not necessary.

Furthermore, access to a reliable internet connection should be guaranteed.
